2024 Ontario Pre-Budget Consultation Submission

The Federation's submission to the Ontario 2024 Pre-Budget Consultations calls for increased funding in three areas: improving technology access, ensuring equitable extracurricular opportunities, and better implementing course de-streaming. It highlights disparities in technology access and extracurricular activities, especially for low-income and rural students. Additionally, it stresses the need for more resources to support de-streaming in Grades 9 and 10, including professional development for teachers and smaller class sizes, to ensure effective implementation and support for all students.
Each year, the Legislative Assembly of Ontario Standing Committee on Finance and Economic Affairs conducts Pre-Budget Consultations. The purpose of Pre-Budget Consultations is for interested parties and stakeholders to submit a list of priorities and recommendations for the provincial budget.
